Top Flight Updates: Palmer's Fitness Blow, Bournemouth Boss's Squad View, and Further Developments

Cole Palmer's Comeback Delayed by Unfortunate Domestic Incident

The Blues forward Cole Palmer experienced a fresh injury setback, fracturing a small bone in his foot in a freak accident at home, ruling him out for a further fortnight. The 23-year-old was nearing a return after a two-month layoff due to a groin injury, only to stub his little toe on a household object on Wednesday night.

Chelsea, preparing to play Burnley in the top division on the weekend, had been optimistic Palmer would be fit for the Champions League clash against Barcelona or the Arsenal fixture. Enzo Maresca commented, “Sadly, he suffered a mishap at home two days ago and injured his foot. It's minor, but he won’t be back next week.”

“He was very close. He was almost back after the previous injury, and that’s positive. However, he has this small problem, and hopefully it’s nothing major.”

Maresca added that Palmer didn't have a special footwear and functioning well, but the injury site makes wearing boots painful. The player has not needed an operation on his earlier injury and is eager to return amid frustrations this season. Chelsea is handling his fitness carefully, with international hopes for the national team increasing stakes.

Iraola Unfazed by Speculation Over Winger

The Bournemouth boss has insisted he is not worried about speculation linking attacker Antoine Semenyo with a January exit. Semenyo has a big-money clause in his long-term contract signed this off-season, but the manager dismissed the talk ahead of the upcoming fixture.

“We are in November. Antoine is our player, he remains with us. When the window opens, inquire about the transfers, but currently I’m not focused on next moves.”

Spurs Forward Fit for North London Derby with Protective Mask

Tottenham have been boosted with the forward declared fit for the Arsenal game on the weekend. The Frenchman sustained a jaw injury in the Manchester United match and missed national team games, but will play in a protective mask after sessions this week.

The Spurs manager announced that Pape Sarr and Lucas Bergvall are fit, while backline and others have come back to training. Radu Dragusin is stepping up his comeback from a ACL issue, and the winger is back after sitting out Ghana action. However, James Maddison and others remain sidelined.

Howe Wants Striker to Regain Form

The Newcastle manager is hoping for Nick Woltemade to improve after the pause. The Magpies are 14th in the Premier League, with the forward netting five times in his initial games but only one in his last six. The coach thinks his strikes for Germany will help him.

“Given the lack of training period, he’s performed admirably. Scoring internationally will benefit him. Confidence is key for a forward, and we need more as the focal point.”

Carvalho Blow Caps Tough Week for Club

Brentford manager Keith Andrews confirmed it has been a “hard period” after the midfielder sustained a ACL damage in training, ruling him out. Carvalho, who joined from Liverpool in the summer, has 33 appearances for the London-based team.

“It's a huge blow for him. I feel for him. He is a player I value, and we'll back him during this difficult time.”

The striker netted a brace in the recent win, taking his tally to nine goals in a dozen appearances, helping his national team hopes. However, Brentford will remain without Josh Dasilva for the upcoming match.

Silva Insists He Does Not Fear Sack

The Fulham boss has declared he is “in agreement” with the club’s hierarchy amid rumors over his future. He is still considering a new contract with his existing terms expiring at the campaign's conclusion.

“We are on the same page. Naturally, we may disagree on everything, but success needs cooperation.”

Silva bemoaned the short period to fix problems after a poor run of losses in six games, but said the squad is prepared to bounce back against their next opponents.
