NFL Roundup: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Even with recording nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after giving up a safety in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards during the entire game.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short field goal with just over five minutes remaining.

Record Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets still had possession with a chance to drive for a potential victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented after the game.
