New England Match Best Winning Streak From Tom Brady Era with Win Against Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

First-year player Henderson has recorded five scores during the current campaign

New England tied their top unbeaten stretch since the Tom Brady era as they defeated division rivals the Jets by 13 points in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three touchdowns as the Patriots notched an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Tom Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Drake Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a score, completing 25 of 34 passes

The triumph increases the Patriots advantage at the summit of the division as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had gone in front at Foxborough with quarterback Justin Fields rushing for a five-yard touchdown to conclude the Jets' first possession

But the Patriots responded in the second quarter as Henderson ran in two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back caught a pass from Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third quarter to extend the lead to 21-7

"That was a crucial moment for him stepping up, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He desires to be great."

Fields threw to Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales booted a two field goals in the final period as the home side sealed the victory
