Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring near a popular southern California beach unexpectedly began spiraling wildly, eventually dropping height and plunging into a line of palm groves as spectators observed.
Recordings uploaded online capture the chopper commencing to spiral above the shoreline then falling in the direction of the border of the beach, where it ends up lodged among palm trees and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters said five people were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the road were hurt. Specifics on their wounds were still under review.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
