Discover 29 New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander Precon Deck!)
Everyone's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The popular trading card game's company, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special panel held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical new set or yet another crossover marketing move? Let you be the judge.
Take a look below at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key context. Everything mentioned here launches on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.
Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards
Before we get into the many unique products and collections on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.
Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking features. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where players can cheat big creatures onto the battlefield when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a little (It counts as casting, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.
“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu because that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced game designer explained. “But in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and the new ability will be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”
That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is among four special cards with special art designed specifically for the set by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.
Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing game cards outside of your deck, many players were. Yet according to the developers, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.
In any case, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from the TMNT set:
Following the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.
“I led the design for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets would be near it in Standard,” the designer says. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red strategy focused on artifact cards.
“They mesh together to offer the components for a fun Standard deck,” he added.
Commander Deck: Turtle Power!
After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area instead of just one). Take a look below:
This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Wizards told that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck comes with 37 land cards.)
What will the Turtles edition of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)
As per usual, Wizards is offering a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:
- 9 Play Boosters

- 15 Regular land cards
- Two Reference cards
- 1 Traditional foil promo card
- 1 Oversized life tracker

Pizza-Themed Bundle
Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Each pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the items below:
- 9 Standard Boosters
- 1 Collector Booster
- Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
- 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
- 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
- 2 helper cards

For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new TMNT artwork. Wizards revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.
This special bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This unique product is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:
- Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to draft)
- One Premium Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
- Ninety Non-foil land cards (for building your deck)
- Ten Regular token cards
- 1 drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)
Turtle Team-Up
Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic game products aimed at beginners. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.
The general idea is that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
